School credit is available if allowed by the university of the applicant. This unpaid internship is designed around teaching you the fundamentals of recruiting and human resources management. The position offers an excellent opportunity to work on substantive projects and could result in an excellent industry-leader reference.

WE PREFER YOU HAVE:

  • Great interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, negotiating, influencing, facilitation, decision making, and conflict resolution skills
  • The ability to stay highly organized with great attention to detail and be deadline oriented
  • The ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion
  • Passion for recruitment and human resources
  • Ideally have taken courses / currently enrolled in classes in the field of Human Resources or have some prior experience with recruitment, sourcing, screening, hiring etc.
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • An outgoing and friendly disposition
  • Reliable transportation
  • Availability to work a minimum of 16 hours per week onsite

YOUR DUTIES AND TASKS:

  • Working closely with the rest of the recruiting team to learn how we support the business
  • Providing assistance to other members of the recruitment team
  • Reviewing resumes and screening candidates for domestic and remote (international) positions
  • Scheduling interviews and skills tests by coordinating appointments
  • Conducting initial interviews with candidates either in person, over the phone, or through Skype
  • Administering skills tests and posting job ads
  • Assisting management with personnel issues and employee development
  • Assisting management with organizing and coordinating employee training workshops
  • Protecting operations by keeping human resource information confidential
  • Updating and maintaining data in the recruiting database
