Camelot Movers is a family-owned moving and storage business based in Santa Clarita, California. They have been in this business for more than three decades, and have served customers throughout the contiguous US. The client wanted to migrate from the WordPress platform to Squarespace. They wanted us to help with the redirects, create and optimize their Google Business Profile (GBP) and other business profiles, grow traffic, and improve the visibility of their brand.
See how our team’s efforts helped Camelot Movers dominate the Local Search Grid for a number of keywords while improving the number of phone call leads as well as website clicks.
Camelotmovers.com has experienced growing organic traffic over the years. However, the brand’s GBP listing was not contributing much to organic traffic. Additionally, the listing was ranking for a lot of less relevant keywords on Google Maps, nothing that was driving meaningful qualified traffic. To improve brand visibility, the client hoped to focus on local Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies. Our team had to optimize the company’s Google Business Profile so customers could find them in their local searches. Our audit also showed that the company name was appearing as Camelot Movers in some business profiles and Camelot Moving and Storage in others. We had to make the profiles consistent and implemented strategies to improve website traffic.
We identified relevant keywords, and included these in the business profile listing. As rankings and impressions improved and activity on the listing increased, our team encouraged the client to respond to customers’ queries quickly. Keeping a high response rate will contribute to improved ranking positions for a GBP listing. We also added and updated several listings for Camelot Movers on a variety of other business profile sites to further increase the brand’s citation score.
Optimizing Google Business Profile
Our team reviewed the client’s GBP. We updated their business information including the office and delivery hours. Our team optimized the listing description and added the brand’s products and services. We also added UTM codes to URLs to better analyze the website’s traffic. These codes inform the brand on what source, medium, and campaign is specifically driving conversions and provides more insightful marketing metrics. We added a Question and Answer section in the GBP listing. Website users can get answers quickly directly from the GBP profile.
Optimizing Bing Business Listing
The brand had an existing Bing Business listing with a different business name. Our team updated the company name from Camelot Movers to Camelot Moving and Storage. We then added further optimizations to the Bing listing including office opening hours, delivery hours, URL with UTM parameters, service areas, logo and social media profiles.
Optimizing Yelp Listing
The brand’s Yelp Listing profile needed optimization as well. We started with updating the business name and details. Banner images were added, products and services added, and other business highlights optimized.
Web Development Updates
The client moved from a WordPress website to a Squarespace website. After the migration, the Squarespace XML sitemap contained several duplicate URLs and tag pages. Our developers removed the duplicate URLs and tag pages from the new website, and added redirects. We added Title Tags and Meta Descriptions to all pages. We also created and implemented an HTML sitemap to further increase the visibility of the website in search engines, and implemented page speed improvements strategies.
Camelot Moving and Storage began to dominate the Local Search Grid for a number of keywords. Organic users increased by 40.8% for Year 2 when compared to Year 1. For this same comparison period, new users increased by 40.8% and overall goal conversion grew by 14%. Phone call leads from organic traffic increased by 63% for this same comparison period.
