Overview

1500 Sound Academy is a comprehensive entertainment company offering educational services for video and music production, as well as courses on publishing for songwriters, musicians, recording artists, and videographers. Seeking to expand their enrollment, the academy reached out for lead generation SEO services after seeing the success of another brand working with Coalition Technologies. Learn how we assisted in their website migration and implemented expert SEO strategies to increase their leads.

Problem

Initially an on-campus institution, 1500 Sound Academy transitioned to an online format due to COVID, allowing students to access an online portal to view and complete coursework at their own pace. The client was having their website migrated from SquareSpace and needed our team to work in conjunction with their web development team. 

We identified multiple opportunities for 1500 Sound Academy to grow their brand. They did not have landing pages or backlinks for their entertainment technology and instrument corporation partners. They lacked user-generated content, and didn’t feature their award-winning faculty members and guest speakers very prominently on their website.

Solution

We audited their website, provided breadcrumb schema code, and fixed 404 errors. Our designers optimized the footer and added the brand’s logo and other relevant links to further increase user engagement. Our team implemented the required changes to improve website speed on mobile devices.

We enhanced product pages by adding SEO-friendly content, banner copy, headers, CTAs above the fold, and optimized images. Our team redesigned the main blog post and testimonial pages by adding a search feature and a right sidebar with links to main pages, newsletter signup, category pages, and testimonials. 

We wrote new and also re-optimized existing content for a number of webpages so that they would be visible ranking well in search engines results’ pages. Our link builders reviewed competitors’ link profiles and added backlinks from credible, external websites to the academy’s website to boost organic visibility.

Local Search Engine Optimization

As part of our local SEO strategy, we verified and optimized the brand’s Google Business Profile (GBP) and Bing Business profile by adding images, posts, logo, and other valuable content. Our team provided a form to encourage students to leave a review, which the client adopted, leading to increased reviews. We monitored and responded to reviews, and frequently assessed local ranking performance in Local Search Grid (LSG) reports to determine our next priorities. Moreover, we added an Apple Business Listing for visibility on the Apple Map platform and to cater to iOS users searching for services with the “near me” keywords.

Results

Two and a half years into the partnership, 1500 Sound Academy went from ranking for 1,184 keywords to 1,667. Keywords in top 3 positions grew by 52.4%, with significant gains in positions 4-10 and second-page rankings. The academy saw 59 new SERP featured snippets gained for the website within the first year of our campaign.

Quarter over quarter, 1500 Sound Academy saw improvements in their organic users, new users, sessions, page per session, average session duration, transactions, ecommerce conversion rate, and revenue. Organic traffic improvements were notable, with a 319.6% revenue increase and 150% growth in transactions. Ecommerce conversion rates increased by 73.2%, organic new users by 55.4%, and organic sessions by 44.3%. The website has maintained steady and solid growth over the years as a result of our strategically focused SEO work.
