Kenian Imports

Coalition Technologies delivered a modern Shopify B2B/B2C ecommerce website for a wholesale rattan furniture supplier through web design and development.

Overview

Kenian Import is a family-run business known for high quality rattan furniture designed for boutique stores, interior designers, and consumers. After shifting away from trade shows and traditional sales reps, the company focused fully on its online B2B market, with plans to expand into B2C. Their existing Repzio website was sunsetting within a few months. They sought our help to build a modern website, migrate their products, customers and other URLs, and create an email strategy to support that shift. The new website should showcase the brand as a premier home decor supplier.

See how we built a robust and modern Shopify website that showcases products, and provides customers with customized furniture in three easy steps.

Problem

Kenian Import’s existing website was sunsetting. The site had confusing navigation, and did not properly calculate freight at checkout. Customers frequently called to ask how to register, what freight would cost, or how the paint-to-order program worked. Orders were delayed because freight was incorrectly calculated, and payments often required manual credit card forms.

Product pages did not show care instructions and correct specifications. The brand wanted to appear more established, but the existing site did not reflect this. They also planned to move from QuickBooks to a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) software system, to integrate core business processes, but had no system in place.

On the email marketing side, there was no real strategy. The company had not sent emails in over eight months. Previous campaigns were inconsistent and visually underwhelming. There was no segmentation, no automation, no testing, and no calendar. Their list of about 3,500 subscribers was largely inactive. They had great products and a clear brand story, but no system to consistently reach their customers.

Solution

We built Kenian Imports on Shopify using a B2B structure with future B2C capability. The design focused on clean layouts and visuals, and a simple but polished user experience. We developed custom page templates for key pages including home, collections, product, blog, and About us. The homepage includes product carousels and a custom UGC gallery to showcase how their customers styled and used their furniture. We added hover effects to the navigation, made product cards clickable, and included smoother transitions on buttons and links.

Collection pages were built with proper pagination and no empty grid gaps to improve the user experience. We designed product pages to include better layout, care instructions, and clearer calls-to-action.

Kenian Imports custom paint page

The client wanted a custom paint page. The existing theme only supported a page with a limited number of variants. We developed the new page with 3 key steps in mind. First, users select their product. Second, they choose a color, including custom colors that updates the product image. Third, the correct price updates automatically based on product and color selection, including any upcharges. This removed confusion and manual calculations that previously slowed down orders, while supporting their 2,000+ variants.

We also implemented a redirect strategy to preserve SEO value and ensure a smooth transition from the old platform.

Zoho Integrations
We integrated Zoho Inventory to sync products both ways. When products are created, updated, or deleted in Shopify, they sync with Zoho Inventory. The same applies in reverse. This ensures stock and product data are accurate across systems.

We also integrated with Zoho CRM so that new customers, form submissions, and purchases automatically sync into the CRM. This gives the team full visibility into activity and customer data.

We also built a custom integration with Zoho Books to connect purchases with accounting. This streamlined invoicing, financial tracking, and reporting as the company transitioned from QuickBooks.

We integrated FreightClub and additional shipping methods directly into checkout. Customers can now see freight options upfront, reducing order delays.

Shipping integration in Kenian Imports’ Shopify store

We recently launched email marketing campaigns on Klaviyo to replace the previous disconnected efforts. We cleaned up their email list, segmented active and inactive customers, and B2B and B2C clients.

We designed visually appealing email  templates that reflected the brand’s tone. We also set up core automations and flows so customers start to receive consistent communication.
