Coalition Celebrating 10 Years as a Google Premier Partner

Coalition Technologies, News, Partners

In June 2016 we published a short, excited announcement. Google had named Coalition Technologies a Premier Google Partner, placing us among its most valued agencies worldwide.

A decade later, we’ve held that distinction without interruption, through the rise of mobile, the fading third-party cookie, the shift to automated bidding, and now AI reshaping how people search. Our annual Google Ads spend under management has grown alongside it, from about $5.1 million in 2016 to nearly $31.9 million in 2025, close to $160 million put to work for clients over the ten years.

Here’s what we wrote back then:

“We are very excited to announce that Google has welcomed Coalition Technologies as a Premier Google Partner! This new title signifies that CT is recognized as one of Google’s most valued agencies worldwide. With a stringent prerequisite of managing large AdWords budgets and earning multiple certifications, the Premier Google Partner badge is specially reserved for companies who have demonstrated consistent success in their industry.

With our new dynamic badge, we are able to highlight our company specializations in Search Advertising, Mobile Advertising, and Shopping Advertising, all of which demonstrate our professional expertise. The Premier Google Partner badge also distinguishes Coalition Technologies as an industry leader, having proven increased performance and mastery of Google AdWords products.”

The language in that post gives away its age. Google Ads was still called AdWords, and mobile was novel enough to be its own specialization. Holding the badge for ten straight years since then doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from delivering results year after year.

What Does “Google Premier Partner” Actually Mean?

The Google Partners program is Google’s official certification system for agencies that manage Google Ads campaigns. Think of it less like a membership card and more like an ongoing performance review, with Google itself grading how effectively agencies use the platform and how well they drive results for advertisers.

The program is organized into three tiers: Member, Partner, and Premier Partner. Member is the entry point and asks for little beyond a certified team member. Partner status raises the bar with active client management, team-wide certifications, and consistent performance. Premier Partner sits at the very top.

What makes the top tier so demanding is how few agencies reach it. Premier Partner status is reserved for roughly the top 3% of participating agencies in each country, evaluated every year. Qualification is graded on a curve, so you aren’t just clearing a fixed bar, you’re outperforming the vast majority of other agencies in your market on client growth, ad spend under management, and campaign optimization.

The program has changed a great deal since our original announcement. Back in 2016, the badge was tied to “Google AdWords,” now simply Google Ads, and to specializations in areas like Search, Mobile, and Shopping advertising. In February 2022, Google rebuilt the entire program with much stricter requirements, and every agency that already held Partner or Premier status had to re-qualify from scratch under the tougher standards. We did, and we’ve continued to re-qualify every year since.

Why a Decade of Premier Status Matters

Earning the badge once is an achievement. Holding it for ten consecutive years, through a major overhaul that forced everyone to start over, is something else.

It reflects sustained performance

Because Premier eligibility gets re-evaluated annually and graded against other agencies, the badge can’t be earned once and coasted on. Every year, we have to prove we still belong in the top 3%. Ten straight years means ten straight years of measurable client results.

It signals stability in a volatile industry

Digital advertising moves fast. Platforms, ad formats, privacy rules, and automation tools are in constant flux, and an agency that has stayed at the top through all of it has shown it can adapt without losing a step.

It deepens our relationship with Google

Premier Partners tend to get access to resources most agencies never see, including dedicated Google support, early access to beta features, advanced training, and direct lines of communication with Google teams. That access feeds back into better, more informed campaign management for clients.

What This Means for Our Clients

For a business deciding who should manage its advertising budget, the Premier Partner badge is a useful filter. A decade of holding it is a real differentiator.

Working with a long-standing Premier Partner means working with a team that Google has independently vetted, again and again, against the strictest criteria the program offers. You get early access to new ad products and beta tools that can give your campaigns an edge before competitors catch on. You also get the reassurance of a documented track record rather than a sales pitch.

Most agencies stop at the standard Partner badge. Far fewer reach Premier. Only a small handful hold it for ten years running.
