Overview
Lakeview Building Group builds high end custom homes and major renovations in the Lake Norman region of North Carolina. While their reputation was strong, online visibility had slipped in key service areas.
Traffic and ranking positions dropped, and they were no longer consistently in the top three of the local map pack for their most valuable terms. They sought our help to reclaim their local dominance for custom home builds and generate a steady pipeline of qualified remodel and new build leads. Problem
The business wanted to rank higher for keywords such as “custom home builder” in Mooresville, around Lake Norman, and in areas such as Brawley Peninsula and Langtree. They also wanted stronger visibility for kitchen remodels, bathroom remodels, and home renovations.
When they contacted us, overall traffic year to date was down 42.8% compared to the previous year. The site had technical issues, including an incorrect XML sitemap in Google Search Console, visible CSS code in the header, and a duplicate homepage in the sitemap.

Lead flow was another concern. The contact form was long, which likely discouraged submissions. They sought our help to grow to 10-12 monthly qualified custom home build leads.
Solution
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
We resolved technical barriers and improved the layout of key pages. The exposed CSS in the header was cleaned up, and the incorrect XML sitemap in Google Search Console was replaced. The duplicate homepage was redirected to the primary URL. Moreover, breadcrumb schema and an HTML sitemap were implemented to improve crawlability and structure.
We updated the navbar height, added a before and after slider to showcase workmanship, and launched a streamlined contact form on key pages. GA4 tracking was aligned to accurately measure form submissions and conversion events.



Local SEO
Local visibility growth was the primary key performance indicator (KPI). We focused content and optimization around Mooresville and Lake Norman locations. Service pages were aligned with geographic intent to better match how homeowners search for builders in a defined radius.
We analyzed competitors in the local map pack and adjusted on-page signals to reinforce custom home builds as the top priority, followed by large additions and kitchen remodels. Structured data improvements, including FAQ schema, were added to increase relevance and improve clickthrough rates.
Google Business Profile (GBP) and Apple Maps
We optimized and enhanced their Google Business Profile and Apple Maps presence with updated descriptions, new service lines, and consistent NAP citations. News, offers, and optimized images were added to strengthen engagement.
Business profiles were verified across platforms to capture local “near me” searches from users. Performance was monitored using local grid reporting to measure movement toward top three map pack placement.
AI SEO
As more homeowners use platforms such as ChatGPT and Perplexity to research builders and remodeling options, we implemented a structured AI SEO strategy. To help large language models interpret site content accurately, we added copy written using natural, conversational phrasing aligned with how users ask questions inside AI tools. Content was structured for chunk level retrieval so AI systems could extract and cite Lakeview’s information cleanly.
We also ran an AI-driven homepage messaging test through announcement bar optimization and added core services above the fold.

Final Product
Results
Engagement metrics improved quickly. Average session duration increased 83% for organic traffic and 87% overall. Engagement rate improved 10% for organic and 13% overall month over month.
Google Search Console performance increased with impressions up 63.1% and clicks up 134.3% period over period. After our technical SEO implementations, for the same 3-month period year over year, the average position improved from 44.7 to 31.9, a gain of 12.8 positions.

Comparing successive three-month periods, sessions from organic traffic increased by 51.3%. Quarter over quarter, new users from organic traffic grew by 55.6%, and conversion events from organic traffic by 19.2%. Our effort helped to double the number of keywords over one year.

Conversion rates climbed sharply, with organic conversions up 170% and overall conversions up 108% month over month. Clickthrough rate (CTR) increased by 200% year over year.
The site is now positioned to generate consistent, qualified leads in Mooresville and Lake Norman. Visibility is climbing, engagement is stronger, and the foundation is in place to reach the client’s target of steady custom home and remodel inquiries each month.
