Overview
California Private Security Organization (CPSO) provides a comprehensive platform that connects security agencies, security professionals, and administrators. It streamlines hiring, training, and certification management, and future membership services.
The project required more than a traditional lead generation website. CPSO needed a system that could support multiple user types, streamline administrative processes, and provide a foundation for future growth as the organization expands its services and member network.
See how we built a custom B2B/B2C WordPress/WooCommerce website forCPSO, designed to support security agencies, guards, and administrators.
Problem
CPSO needed to support several different audiences, each with completely different goals. Security guards needed an easy way to apply, create profiles, and manage training requirements. Security agencies needed a framework for memberships and access to officer information. Administrators needed tools to review applications, manage users, and oversee activity across the platform.
There was no centralized platform in place to support these workflows. Information needed for security agencies, guards, and administrators was scattered, and processes were handled manually without a unified system designed around how these groups interact. The challenge was to build a platform from the ground up that could simplify those processes while also supporting future subscription services and organizational growth.
Solution
Web Design & Development
CPSO wasn’t a typical lead generation or ecommerce site. Since it had to work for the different needs of security agencies, security guards, and internal administrators, user experience had to reflect that instead of forcing everyone through the same flow.
Structure, navigation, and user journeys were all shaped around how each group actually uses the system. Security guards needed a straightforward way to create profiles, apply for opportunities, manage training requirements, and access important information. Security agencies needed a way to connect with and manage their relationships with qualified personnel. Administrators required tools to review applications, manage users, and oversee activity without relying on WordPress administrative access.

We set up separate profile types for security officers and security agencies. On top of that, we built a custom admin dashboard so the CPSO team can review and approve applications, manage users, and track activity without having to go into WordPress directly.

We also reworked the signup and login flow so it feels more natural depending on who’s using it. Guards, agencies, and admins each have their own path through the system, including mobile navigation that reflects their specific needs.
At a higher level, the goal wasn’t to make a “standard” website. It was to build something that fits into the daily reality of how CPSO operates, while still leaving space to grow into new features later on.
Integrations
Paid Membership Pro
We implemented and customized Paid Membership Pro for CPSO’s membership and subscription model. The platform was configured to support different member types (i.e., security agencies and security officers) with flexibility for future expansion.
Custom functionality was also developed to support subscription structures based on organization size, allowing membership options to scale alongside agency growth. This gives CPSO a framework for future recurring revenue opportunities without requiring significant redevelopment.
In-Platform Messaging
We installed and configured Shamim’s in-application messaging system so communication could happen directly inside the platform. Users can send and receive messages without relying only on email, making conversations easier to follow and respond to.
It also keeps everything connected to the actual application process instead of scattered across different channels, which makes day-to-day coordination a lot simpler.
User Management and Administrative Tools
To simplify platform management, we developed a custom dashboard that allows the CPSO team to review and approve security agency applications, process security guard applications, manage user profiles, and oversee platform activity. The system was intentionally designed so staff can perform these tasks without requiring WordPress administrative permissions, improving both usability and security.

Final Product
Results
The platform is now much easier for all three groups to use. Security guards can create profiles, apply for opportunities, and access important information without having to jump through unnecessary hoops. Security agencies have a clearer path for managing their involvement with the organization, while administrators have the tools they need to oversee activity across the platform.
On the management side, a lot of the manual work has been simplified. The CPSO team can review applications, manage users, and handle day-to-day platform operations through a custom dashboard built specifically around their processes. They no longer have to rely on WordPress administrative access or piece together information from multiple places.
Perhaps the biggest benefit is that the platform gives CPSO room to grow. The foundation is already in place for future membership programs, subscription services, certification management, and additional functionality as the organization expands. Instead of solving only today’s needs, the platform was built to support where CPSO wants to go next.
